Privacy
WhatDuty is a calculator, not an account system. You don't log in, we don't know who you are, and we want to keep it that way. Here is everything we do with data, in plain sentences.
Analytics
We use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to understand how the calculator is used — which pages are visited, whether a calculation finishes, whether pasting a link worked. It runs cookieless: no cookies, no localStorage, nothing stored on your device. Events are anonymous and we never call anything that would build a profile of you. What you type into the calculator (prices, items) stays in your browser; the analytics event records only aggregates like an item count and totals.
Pasted product links
When you paste a link, our server fetches that one page once to read the title and price, keeps the result in a short-lived cache, and respects the store's robots.txt. In analytics we record only the store's domain (for example “temu.com”), never the full link.
Ads
There are no ads and no ad cookies on this site today. If we add ads later, a consent banner comes first — nothing ad-related will load before you say yes.
Email alerts
If you sign up for email alerts, we use double opt-in: you confirm your address before anything is sent. Every email includes a one-click delete link that removes your address entirely. Your email address never appears in analytics.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you and ask for it to be deleted. For analytics the honest answer is: nothing identifying — there is no ID linking events to you. For email alerts, the delete link in any email does it instantly.
